Laughter as Healing: EdSource Highlights Our "Laughing Together" Program
At a time when so many young people are carrying invisible burdens, sometimes the most unexpected tools can open the door to healing. And yes, even joy.
We’re proud to share that EdSource just published a feature on Laughing Together, our improv based mental health skill building program that helps students build confidence, community, and emotional resilience through the power of improv.
The article, written by journalist Vani Sanganeria, includes insight from Wellness Together founder Marlon Morgan and comedian Chris Gethard, who helped create Laughing Together. Together, they reflect on what happens when we give students space to connect, have fun together, take creative risks, tell their stories, and build trust–with themselves and with each other.
Since its launch, Laughing Together has grown from a bold idea into a transformative tool for supporting student mental health. As young people navigate rising levels of stress, disconnection, and pressure, we’ve seen how improv’s “yes, and” mindset fosters not only creativity but connection, empathy, and growth.
We’re grateful to EdSource for shining a light on this work, and even more grateful to the students and educators who’ve embraced laughter as a serious form of care.
