Mental Wellbeing for All

The mission of Wellness Together is to provide accessible and effective mental health services to individuals and families across communities with humanity and dignity. We believe in providing mental health solutions that promote mental health awareness, advocacy, and access and are committed to the development of a culturally competent workforce.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are paramount to creating a world where every student has access to life-saving mental health support, ensuring all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our commitment to providing equitable support to all students in schools remains unwavering, including under-served and LGBTQIA+ students, who are disproportionately at risk for devastating mental health challenges, including an increased risk of death by suicide. In addition, we align with the American School Counseling Association’s Position Statement: “All students have the right to be treated equally and fairly, with dignity and respect as unique individuals, free from discrimination, harassment and bullying based on their gender identity and gender expression” (Revised 2022).

Core Values

Awareness

We are committed to raising awareness in collaboration with school communities and developing a shared understanding and response to the varied mental health challenges experienced by diverse communities. Through our evidence-based programs, we work to foster an environment where mental health is openly discussed, stigmas are reduced, and understanding is promoted across all cultural, socio-economic, and demographic groups.

Advocacy

We are committed to advocating for equitable mental health support by championing policies and practices that address the disparities in mental health care. We promote inclusive and equitable mental health practices that ensure all students have the support they need to thrive. Our advocacy efforts are informed by ongoing dialogue with the communities we serve to ensure that our actions reflect their needs and realities.

Access

We are committed to improving access to mental health resources for every student, educator, and school staff member. This means expanding care to the historically underserved and marginalized groups who experience systemic barriers to critical services. We strive to integrate mental health resources and training into everyday school life, and provide resources that are accessible to all.

Workforce Development

We are committed to emphasizing workforce development by training our staff and volunteers in diverse, culturally competent, inclusive, and equitable mental health practices. Our training programs aim to include a focus on intersectionality, ensuring that our staff understands how overlapping identities impact individuals' experiences and access to mental health care. We invest in recruitment strategies that ensure our team reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. Furthermore, we commit to continual professional development that keeps our team at the forefront of best practices in education and mental health support.
