Alyssa Goudge, M.A.
Alyssa Goudge, M.A., is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #6441) and is registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and is also licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (C. 1801304) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy Board (CSWMFT). Her educational background consists of a Bachelor’s in psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a dual Master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College.
Whether a client needs support through a trying situation or moving towards positive self-growth and healing Alyssa’s goal is to create a setting where the client feels safe, supported, encouraged and empowered to do so. Alyssa utilizes an eclectic treatment approach dependent on the specific needs of the client. Approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy and utilizes a Humanistic and Systemic approach. Art therapy may be used in session with client’s consensus as a therapeutic outlet, form of psychotherapy, or method of communication for children, adolescents or adults who may struggle to put thoughts and feelings into words or feel more comfortable communicating non-verbally.
Alyssa has experience working in individual and group settings with children, adolescents, and adults helping to cope with anger, grief, anxiety, depression and self-esteem as well as LGBTQ+A, self-harm, major life transitions, military family and life challenges, and trauma. She believes each individual is both capable and deserving of reaching their full potential and welcomes the opportunity to walk beside you through this time of growth and healing.
