Shana Mattson, M.A.
Shana Mattson, M.A., is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern (IMF #94079) registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). She completed her B.A. at Mount Holyoke College with a major in Anthropology and a minor in Latin American Studies, and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a M.S. in Family Therapy. As a therapist, Shana’s goal in working with clients is to create a safe, honest space for the exploration of clients’ needs, whether that be growth, change, or healing. In order to support clients as they work towards their goals, she utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches and customizes the plan to fit clients’ unique needs and strengths. Shana has experience working in issues such as: anxiety/depression; grief; major life transitions; parenting challenges; LGBTQ issues; relationship challenges; pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum issues; cross-cultural and multicultural issues; military life issues; and trauma, including sexual assault and abuse.
